Opportunities to explore…

Flamenco Lessons

We offer guests the unique opportunity to study flamenco dance in a spectacular natural environment with a certified professional. Isabel is a professional flamenco dancer with almost thirty years of experience. Classes cover flamenco fundamentals such as compás (rhythm), palmas (clapping), brazos y colocación (arms and posture), and zapateo (footwork), and are tailored to the needs and aspirations of the individual or group. Therefore, guests interested in taking classes with her while staying at Chaparra Eco Lodge are encouraged to let us know in order to discuss options.

Guided Cultural and Historical Tours

Andalucía is truly a geographical and cultural crossroads where many different civilizations have at different times met, clashed, and harmoniously co-existed. For guests interested in history, we offer guided tours both in the Alpujarra or in Granada city that uncover and bring to life the many layers of history beneath our feet.

Guided Herb Walks

We offer guided herb walks in collaboration with a skilled and highly knowledgeable herbalist who has lived-in and studied the plants of the Alpujarra for over thirty years. Herb walks are perfect for guests who would like to get out and discover the Alpujarra's rich herbal diversity. As we follow the mountain paths' winding way along the old Moorish irrigation channels, participants will be awestruck by the incredible botanical wealth of the Alpujarra, whose very landscape can function as a pharmacy, spice-box, and source for house-cleaning and personal-hygiene products -- all rolled into one!

Please note: The availability and variety of fresh herbs, flowers, and roots varies from season to season.

Andalusian Themed Culinary Soirées

The historical legacy of Andalucía is reflected in it's traditional gastronomy, in which culinary aspects of both the West and East are brought together in a unique and harmonious mélange. We offer guests the opportunity to explore culture and history through their palates, in culinary soirées held at the lodge.

Horseback riding and lessons

While not offered by or in collaboration with Chaparra Eco Lodge, we are nonetheless immensely fortunate to count a world-class horse farm and trekking centre -- offering professional guided trail rides through the mountains as well as riding lessons for all levels -- as practically our 'next door' neighbours! We will be more than happy to help guests get in touch with our neighbours at the lovely and inimitable Caballo Blanco Trekking Centre.
